BECOMING A FREIGHT LEADER
In 1988 our President, Phil Dawson, decided to transition his trucking experience into a full - service transportation company combining assets and 3PL service. The focus of the company was — and is — to provide top-notch professional, comprehensive service. Harnessing experience and advanced leadership has built Slingshot into an industry leader. We recognized the need to elevate business practices that ensure high value and reliable, trustworthy service for our customers.
We strive to provide top-level service every day by using the following best business practices:
Those with the standards and expertise required to carry out the vision of superior professional service. Regardless of the team member, e.g. dispatchers, customer service, drivers, etc., there is only one goal: Provide exceptional professional service to our customers.
A better way to broker where building a network of Partner Carriers is the focus. This focus requires the building of honest, reciprocating relationships with an emphasis on greater communication, clear agreements and high standards of accountability.
To provide top-notch service you need the very best equipment backed by roadside breakdown service with a sub unit replacement guarantee. Slingshot is a Platinum Rated customer of Ryder.
Success lies in the details, and managing them requires our five-star management information system supported by a high level of discipline to make sure we have it right.
In 2005, Slingshot’s Michigan head office developed and built a 27,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility involving almost 5,200 sq. ft. office space, 6,400 sq. ft. dry warehouse with cross-dock facilities and 15,000 sq. ft. of modular cooler space with four separate temperature-controlled rooms that can be reconfigured in hours.
Slingshot is motivated by challenges and the success of meeting them. We thrive on gaining understanding of our customers’ needs. We are continually analyzing and upgrading our processes to meet and exceed expectations.
